Getting Started

Thank you so much for applying to work at Heathrow. You’ve taken the first step towards joining our amazing team.

There’s nothing we take more seriously at Heathrow Airport than security. That’s why we review each and every application to join our Security Team in order to make sure we find the very best people to keep our passengers safe.

To start with, we’d like to get to know you a bit better by asking you to fill out an online questionnaire. It should take you around 40 minutes to complete, and you’ll need to submit your answers to us within five days of receiving your email. This email also contains the link to your questionnaire, so please don’t delete the email before you’ve had a chance to complete the questionnaire.

Please complete our referencing and vetting process

To keep our airport, passengers and colleagues safe, we need to ensure our Security Officers are vetted to the highest standard. You can complete this page at any point during your application process, but as it can take a while to process everything, we recommend doing it as soon as possible to help us speed up the progress of your application.

Disability adjustments.

We’re an inclusive employer and want to make the application process as accessible as possible. If you require any adjustments to be made to accommodate a disability or condition you may have, please call the recruitment team on 0208 103 1959 and we’ll have happy to find a solution that works for you.

What happens next?

Once you’ve completed the online questionnaire, we’ll come back to you within 24 hours to let you know if you’ve been successful.

If we think you’re right for the role and you’d like to continue with your application, then we’ll invite you for an interview. The questionnaire will end by asking you what sort of interview you’d prefer – online, where you record your answers, or by phone. The online interview is more convenient in most cases, and both interview types allow you to ask questions at the end.
